Emmanuel Music celebrates John Harbison’s 80th birthday with the Lydian String Quartet and an all-star line up of Emmanuel Music singers. Our tribute to Emmanuel’s favorite composer (next to Bach!) and Principal Guest Conductor will include the Boston premiere of his String Quartet No. 6 – an allusively traditional work that toys with modern mechanisms; Thanks Victor – a medley of popular Victor Young tunes arranged for string quartet; and the world premiere of six new popular tunes by John “written in the margins” with the composer at the piano!
